Two trips to the U.S.A., the first in August 2016 and the later in February 2017, focused on contemporary collections in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Indianapolis and Boston; and a reappraisal of the paintings of Ellsworth Kelly and Frank Stella and the architecture of Frank Gehry. Consequently, a more complex spatial geometry evolved in the work.
